The Story

Tres Tribus is crafted by Maestro Mezcalero Juan Antonio Coronel in the remote mountains of Mixteca, Oaxaca, whose microclimate creates an unparalleled environment for mezcal.

Descendant of the Zapotec and Mixtec people, Coronel’s family has handed down the secrets of mezcal for generations, celebrating the rich, complex flavors of agaves by bringing forth their pure, authentic profiles.

Coronel’s palenque, built on family grounds in San Francisco Nuxaño, is one of only two in the Mixteca region, and the only one producing mezcal in the mountains.

A trained chemical engineer, Coronel brings ancestral artistry and science together to make magnificent mezcal.

THE RANGE

ENSAMBLE

44% ABV

Distilled from 8-year-old Espadín, Jabalí silvestre averaging between 10 and 15 years old, and incredibly rare Salmiana silvestre that can range from 15 years up to 35 years old.

Capon

44% ABV

The Capon is distilled from agave plants that average between 8 and 12 years old. The plant is only harvested once its quiote has blossomed, which means the agave has reached the end of its life where it will reproduce and die.

Tobalá

44% ABV

The Tobalá is the true identity of Oaxaca and our mezcal is distilled from plants that are on average 10 years old.

CUISHE

44% ABV

The Cuishe, which comes from plants that range from 10 to 25 years old, has an unmistakable identity.
